Spinal Headache after Disectonmy

by MarkH4851, Oct 20, 2007 01:03PM
After my first week of recovery from a disectonmy, I found out I had spinal fluid leaking from my dura. I have been on my back for 35 days hoping this will heal by itself. Has anybody out experienced this before and can you gvie me some feedback on if it healed by itself or you had to go back into surgery to fix the leak.

Have you had a blood patch?  A blood patch is an injection of your blood into the spine near where the leak is occurring.  The blood will help clog the leaking hole.  Your doctor should know about this procedure.  It is not surgery.
