Stabbing Pain In Head

Stabbing Pain In Head

You might think I'm crazy when you read all the symptoms I have been experiencing but the doctor has been No help and I believe she doesn't Get what I'm saying, So I'm hoping someone out there does! I tried to list everything I could think with hope that someone knows what I'm talking about!

SYMPTOMS:
I recently have experienced severe pains in my head (sometimes on left side other times right side or top) a couple inches away from the ear.(a few times a popping above the ear, so weird)Anyway these pains are unbarrable. I have been to the doctor several times and It just seems like she doesn't get it! A month prior to this I had terrible headache almost everyday (end of summer, was told it was allergys (allergies)) I was put on Flonase a nasal spray which seemed to help untill i got the splitting pains. I have also been experiencing random/strange pains for example the other night I had a weird pain through-out my colar-bone area and it continued down my arms into my rists(only two/three times in about 5-10 mins) I have also experienced chest pain, and currently having bad back pain in lower back, tightness in chest, which the ER doc diagnosed as bronchial spasm( got an inhaler and some steriods, did basically nothing) muscle soreness, extreme pain in lower stomache (like severe cramping to the point where i cant even stand or walk cramping) which started when i stated on (YAZ) and hasn't stopped even though i discontined the use of it(after 1 month), and I'm tired,  A LOT but have trouble staying asleep because of my back and my every-night nightmares and night sweats. My main consern is focased on these bad head pains on the side of my head they are very anoying and AWFULLY painful, they only happen a couple times a week and for about 30 sec/1min but that one min feels like an eternity( sometimes cause dizziness). I am only 18 and i'm pretty healthy (besides the cigarettes) I just don't understand what this could be.
I thought it might have to do with the surgery I had on the side of my head that seems to be hurting more often(my right) the surgery was to remove a skin tag that I was told was a "strawberry patch birth mark" when I was born ( but birthmarks shouldn't grow into skin tags) which turned out to have some canserous cells (but they were supposively all removed). I'm deffinitly going to have an MRI done to make sure!

DOCTOR ISSUES:
My doctor keeps asking if I'm prego, which is really starting to bother me because she is the one
who put me on BC in the first place!(only been on it for a month now, seasonique)

She(doctor) also thinks I am depressed (witnessed/experienced tragic loss of two friends) which I really don't think I am. I know for a fact I have anxiety issues(always have),high blood pressure issues and maybe some stress issues but I don't think I'm depressed. I still go to a pediatrician so they don't really like to give "kids" strong medications, they think the cure to everything is anti-biotics and advil it seems like, and they wont do anything for my anxiety except for zo-loft (i'm not taking because i'm not depressed!) my anxiety is most likely the cause of my high blood pressure at such a young age(since 11).(doesn't take a genius to fiqure that out)

Everyone seems to think I am a bit of a hypercondriac or I'm depressed when I explain what I'm going through but I know these symtoms (symptoms) arn't normal and I'm scared. The doctor doesn't seem to know what it is, can someone please help me! &Thank you for caring enough to read about all my ****, hopefully someone else is experiencing the same ****!

Your doctor sounds like a real winner. Find a new one, and NOT a pediatrician. Tell the new doctor you're looking for a doctor who will listen to you, take your complaints seriously, and help you eliminate the symptoms you are experiencing - whatever is causing them. Get a thorough physical and have any tests done that doc orders. I think you need to rule out the possibility of a physical problem causing your symptoms first. You may have more than one thing going on. Then, if you are still having physical complaints, consider the possibility that stress/anxiety could be responsible and seek help for that.  Stress can really take a toll on your body and manifest itself with physical symptoms. Whether it's physical or psychological, you need to find the cause and eliminate it. Best of luck to you.

Hi
Welcome to the forum!
First of all at the age of 18 years you need to move on to a regular doctor. If you have high blood pressure and headaches, then first the cause of high BP such as kidney problems, heart problems, liver problems etc should be ruled out. A high BP can cause a severe headache that no medicine can treat except the BP lowering medicines.
The other possibility is compression of the spinal nerves in the cervical spine region. This can happen due to overuse of computers, work involving straining of neck, canal stenosis, bone disease, spondylosis, poor posture etc. A MRI of the cervical spine may be required. You may need to consult a neurologist regarding this.
So first find a PCP who can take you. Get your BP monitored and investigated. Discuss pinched nerves with this doctor. Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!

I some what know how you feel my doctor down played alot of my problems apparently thinking they were in my head, in the processes of finding a new doctor. I am currently on Seasonique and have been for almost a year I love it, but sometimes it will throw you for a loop due to the 3 months in between the periods! I don't know about all of your symptoms but I do about the sharp pains in the side of your head. I started having them when I was 18 and due to my father's unknown deafness I went to see an ENT. After trying steriods and multiple hearing tests, they decided to do an MRI. Come to find out I have TMJ. The doctor prescribed me some mild muscle relaxers I took them for 2 weeks straight then as needed. This was 5 years ago now I might have 2 maybe 3 attacks of this severe pain a year compared to my weekly attacks. Hope this helps!
