Hi,
How are you? Aneurysm is caused by balloon-like weakness or bulge in blood-vessel wall. leading to sudden, unbearable headache, double vision, and rigid neck. This can be diagnosed with imaging studies such as MRI. Further cardio tests including tilt table test may indeed help determine the underlying cause. Do keep us posted with the results of these tests. Take care always.
Hi there and thank you for your response. I am still having this head pain on and off. Would the MRI be able to rule out an un ruptured aneurysm? I have never had a headache like this before and I am afraid something is going to bust open in my head.
I take pain medication daily for something else and I am worried it is masking my pain. The pain is pretty bad but it only last for seconds off and on through the day. I am really worried..
Is regards to the near fainting my cardio does not seem to think its my heart so I went back to the EP doctor I saw in 2006 for an EP study, which they were suppose to an ablation for SVT but were unable to provoke it long enough. The EP doctor is getting me a cardio net monitor and ordered a tilt table test even though my issue does not happen changing positions. I hope all checks out ok.
Hi Siera,
How are you? It is good that the MRI was normal. This means that the headache may be caused by primary headaches such as migraine, tension or cluster headache. With regards to your presyncope, this is usually caused by decreased blood flow to the brain due to failure of the heart to pump the blood; the blood vessels don't have enough tone to maintain blood pressure to deliver the blood to the brain; or there is not enough blood or fluid within the blood vessels. Having through some tests with your cardiologist help rule out cardiac causes. You may benefit from further evaluation by your doctor if the symptoms persist. Take care and do keep us posted.
