Strange headaches that won't go away- forgetting where i am, Please help!!!

I have been expeirencing headaches for more than 6 months now. I am a 13yr old female. I have been suffering lots of pain around the back of my head, my temples and around my forehead. I am in yr 9 at school and it is an important year, but because of the headaches, i have been missing alot of days off school because of the pain. I have tried paracetamol, ibruprofen, cocoldomol and nurophen- but nothing takes the pain away. My doctors gave me stronger tablets but even they didn't help, so i have been referred to a hospital. I went there recently and saw a pediatrician and he gave me more tablets. So far these tablets aren't helping. I am becoming extremly disorented and vonurable. Sometimes i become very angry ans start shouting- when i am usaully very quiet, I don't know where i am sometimes or i feel like i am in someone else's body. If i am around lots of people i can beome extremly upset and my hands start shaking.

Can anyone help me?
I can't take the pain anymore, and i don't like feeling like this. I try and stay positive but i just breakdown sometimes in the middle of my lessons.

If anyone can help or suggest anything please let me know,
Thankyou

Sarah

From what you have written, I have to presume you have visited only regular doctors (general practitioners). Once they find the headache do not go away with ordinary medications, they will check and do the necessary tests to find out what is causing your headache so that they can treat the cause. They may send you to an eye specialist to see if there is minor problems with the lens of your eyes. (do you have difficulty in watching movies, TV, computer screen or reading?, do you have tearing from your eyes?)

If eye specialist finds your eyes are normal, you may be sent to neurologist or ENT specialist as your doctor finds necessary.

HOpe this helps

Well, thats a clue.

You have to visit an Eye specialist. You may have a refractive error and may need glasses.

Hi,

Thanks for writing in.
You seem to be under a lot of stress and anxiety. I would suggest you to relax and make sure you sleep for at least 8 hrs in the night. Do not stay awake beyond your usual bedtime.
There is a possibility of sinusitis and TMJ (Temporomandibular joint disorder) and allergies which need to be ruled out by a thorough clinical exam and tests like X ray.
Make sure you drink plenty of water, eat on time, do some breathing exercises everyday, hopefully your symptoms will resolve soon.

Take care!

Hi,

Thanks for writing back.
Another possibility is TMJ or temporomandibular joint disorder. This disorder is usually seen in people who are in a habit of clenching their teeth or chewing gum.
The symptoms include pain in the temple, and pressure headaches.

You can discuss this possibility with your treating doctor and let us know if you have any more questions.

You said your eyes have been watering recently. And you are using reading glasses, given by optician. You are wearing them while at computers and probably while reading too. Were you advised 'constant wear'?

You may need an Eye specialist's opinion or at least a revisit to the optician.

Best rgds,

TA
