Twitching Around Temple and Nausea

Twitching Around Temple and Nausea

I am a 28 year male and have been experiencing an abnormal about of twitching and sensations of movement in the veins on my right temple for the past two weeks.  These sensations also extend to the area around my eye and sometimes to other parts on the right side of my scalp.  The twitching/movement is nearly constant.  I have also been occasionally experiencing nausea in conjunction with the twitching.  A couple times it was enough to make me sick.  Aside from It being extremely annoying, it is worrying me quite a bit lately.  Are these symptoms a sign of something seriously wrong?

Some background details that might me applicable:

I have also been suffering from neck pain for the past 8 years.  The pain is concentrated primarily between the c7 and t1 vertebrae and my GP believes it to be nerve related.  I have had x-rays and a CT scan on my neck in the past year but nothing abnormal showed up.  I am now on a waiting list to have nerve conduction studies done.

thanks, any advice or info would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
How are you? With your history of possible nerve-related pain, this could be an associated symptom. Were you able to have your eyes checked? This is to rule out any eye-problem. Sometimes nausea can be due to central causes or signals from the brain as well as from other underlying diseases. If it persists, check with your for proper management. this is also to rule out any underlying cause and ease any worries. Take care and do keep us posted.

Thank you Rowena for your advice.  Getting my eyes checked is not something I had thought of.  The twitching could definitely be related to eye strain since I have lately been under alot of stress.  I will bring this up with my doctor.  Thank you again.

Hi,
Refractive errors of the eye can cause blurred vision an even nausea. The excessive ciliary muscle tone can also cause headaches. This is often overlooked especially if there has been no follow-up with an eye doctor for the past year or two. Warm regards.
