Viral Meningitis, HSV2 link?

I contracted HSV2 8 months ago, I developed a fever, light and sound sensitivity, some visual disturbances (flashes of violet), an extremely stiff neck, fatigue, tremors/shakes, pain in the occipital and parietal areas, pain behind my left eye. The pain can wake me from sleep on occassion, generally it is worse in the morning and slightly relieved whilst eating. A ct scan shows everything is normal but although the fever went, and the pain/dizziness and spaciness has gotten a little better - time has not really shown much improvement. By brain functions seem impaired, I have difficulty writing some things such as shopping lists or thinking about the next day. Abstract reasoning seems the hardest hit, and I used to score in the top 10% of the population in this area.
I have pain with the higher notes on my violin, and often cannot withstand the pain to play at all.
The reverberating echo aches pulse at times in the same timing as the Herpes tingles. Could this be viral meningitis, could it be coincidental that it started with HSV2 and be something unrelated? I would be grateful for any suggestions.

There is a possibility of viral meningitis which has three characteristic symtoms (symptoms)  neck rigidity, fever and altered mental status. Please consult your physician as early as possible, you need to undergo CSF examination to rule out meningitis.
