Alright my question is I need a cure I don’t think I have migraines maybe I can find a solution through this website or even a doctor that will work with me to find a cure(I am in Iraq right now).  I will start with Migraine medicine doesn’t work for me I have only came out of a so called migraine with Excedrin Migraine or  Goodies powder is the only thing that I stand by.  Sense in high school I had migraines then went into the navy and did not have one for four years (I was on a ship launching airplanes with stress like no one could believe, no sleep schedule, bad diet, no regiment) and now they are back after the navy.  No one can explain this everyone plays dumb I would like some answers the best one that makes since is that my equilibrium is off ... that seems to be the best answer that I can get any doctors please explain or refer me to a good Migraine Doctor/Alternative medicine. [There is no rhyme or reason for when or where I get them?} A little bit on my background I have gotten them out of shape and in shape, diet dialed in and regular sleep sometimes right after a good workout session, 2 or three a month or just 1 a year.  I am at a complete lost and I don’t want to waste my money on the wrong doctors that start shoving me pills and pray….  I have been told about a equilibrium has some think to do with it if so how can I test that theory.  Please respond to ***@****  Thank you and I appreciate all the help

I can relate to your pain.  I know what it feels like to not have your headaches under control.  Poor sleep is definitely a trigger for me as well.  How many OTC meds do you take?  If you take a lot of ibuprofen, excedrin migraine, etc. you can have what they call medication overuse headaches.  They can be worse than the headache that you started out with in the first place.  If you only had episodic migraines in the past, overuse of these meds (as well as prescription pain ones) can transform your migraines into chronic ones.  I was seeing a headache specialist in Pittsburgh who said that I could take ibuprofen 3X a week.  I now see a specialist at the Cleveland Clinic.  She said that 3X a week was way too much.  If you have more than 2 or 3 migraines a month or have chronic daily headaches it is worth talking to your doc about getting on a preventative.  They can be very helpful.  Some of these drugs include some blood pressure drugs and some seizure drugs.  You probably need an abortive as well.  Have you tried any of the triptans?  These are things like Imitrex, Zomig, Relpax, etc.  If you take one at the first sign of a migraine they can often head it off at the pass.  They also can treat other symptoms that accompany migraine: sensitivity to light and sound, nausea, etc.  I hope that you find a good doctor and that you find some good relief.  -  Kayleen

Thanks for the response I appreciate it currently I am just taking Vitamins and Omega, going on 2.5 months caffeine free but I don’t notice any difference if on or off.  Fioricet works, also Imitrex shot did work.  The sleep thing doesn’t matter with me I have had migraines with and without regular sleep.  This is why I am at a loss...

You have explained your situation quite well.
Your solution for migraine follows.Be very patient.
Do this everyday and you will start to feel the benefit after 9 days. Allow 4 months for the migraine to clear, as this works gradually.Come back to report your progress on this post after one month, and I will give you two more techniques to do. Your sleep will improve from day three. Drink warm water.

Build up your timing gradually. If you feel tired or dizzy, stop and resume after one minute.
Anulom Vilom –
Close your right nostril with thumb and deep breath-in through left nostril
then – close left nostril with two fingers and breath-out through right nostril
then -keeping the left nostril closed  deep breath-in through right nostril
then - close your right nostril with thumb and breath-out through left nostril.
This is one cycle of anulom vilom.
Repeat this cycle for 15 to 30  minutes twice a day.
Children under 15 years – do 5 to 10 minutes twice a day.
You can do this before breakfast/lunch/dinner or before bedtime or in bed.Remember to take deep long breaths into the lungs. You can do this while sitting on floor or chair or lying in bed.
