What can I take for this migraine?

I am allergic to pain medications.  I'm allergic to all opiates.  I'm allergic to Tylenol.  I developed a kidney issue, so I can't take NSAIDs.  I only just saw a neurologist for the first time, and I'm scheduled for an EEG on Monday.  I've never had this test done before, so I don't know what to expect with this test either.  The nephrologist told me not to take any magnesium or potassium.  I read information online about the alternative medication that the neurologist suggested, and the information said that that one has magnesium in it.

The neurologist thinks I'm having a lot more migraines than I'm even aware of, so it's important to do some preventative measures to try to limit these migraines.  I have reason to suspect some petit mals, too, but he thinks that what I'm describing is actually migraine.  Well, either way, I still need to find something to deal with this awful headache that just won't go away.

As I see you cannot take medications to relieve pain. However you can take medications to prevent pain related to migraine. Betablockers, certain seizure medications and some types of antidepressants help to relieve pain. Botox injections too are known to relieve migraine.

You could talk to your doctor to see which drug will work best for you. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care
