What can cause a burning sensation in a migraine?

I have suffered from migraines for years now and have been to idk how many doctors and have taken pills after pills that haven't worked.  My doctor recently put me on Topomax (topamax) and that hasn't done anything either.  Before that I started to get this burning sensation in my head, no specific spot but it just burns and then my ears get extremely hot. I get night sweats and I sleep with a fan pointed straight at me and when they get worse my chest gets extremely hard. I had an MRI done last year but have been fighting with the hospital because I never received my results.  They keep getting worse and I don't know what else to do at this point.  I am 21 years old and went from being a straight A student to barely passing any of my classes which in turn has got be depressed and I am just trying to figure out what I can do.  Any information on this would help.

How are you? You need to have the MRI results to see if there is any significant issues to be dealt with.  If Topamax have not been helping, you may need to inform your doctor for proper management. A change of medication or an increase in dosage may be indicated. There are many medications available for migraine and it may take time to find the best medicine for you. Identifying the triggers and avoiding them may also hep prevent any recurrences. The burning sensation may be part of the neurological symptoms and should be mentioned in your next follow-up with your attending physician. You may also benefit from a referral to a neurologist.
