aura with not much of head pain

im 45 yr old male..never had any problems with anykind of headache,s..i had 7 blood clots found in my left leg in 2000.had a p.e...stared getting the aura in approx 2001-2002. i have h.b.p. bipolar,sleep apnea, asthma..lost 55 pounds in the last 9 monthes..with light exercises..i have 1 kidney works very well..cholesterol 175 taken last month 12 hr fast. lisinopril 1-40mg 1 aday. xanax 1 mgs 3 times aday. lithiem 300mgs 1 every 8 hrs.ddavp 0.2 mgs 2 at bedtime..methadone 10mgs 1 every 6-8 hrs addicted to it not by choice..coummdian 7mgs aday every 4th day 8mgs.nexium 40mg 1 aday.vistreal 50mgs 2 at bedtime..albuterol inhaler 2 puffs  no more than 10 in 24hrs...thats the meds..have had b.p. had it 25 yrs.no sugar..was elevated not enough to matter on the fast..OK..when i get the aura and go threw all that scary stuff..within 12 hrs or so its like when you were little and after you got sick you coughed so much that WHEN YOU KEPT COUGHING IT WOULD HURT..thats what my head does then when i stop like any strain to the head then its gone..if i have  to bend over to get something then it hurts but not that bad until i come back up..I DONT THINK IVE EVER EXPERINCED A FULL BLOW MIAGRAIN!!..mine seems to be like the elderly they get more aura..thats how i am..its weird but thats what happens!! my son had them were he cried then they gave him adult shot of demerol..my dads had them bad..my ex wife..i had alot of regular ones just not the bad ones..i hope i dont i got enough health problems..so  mostly i get the aura..the numbness only in my shoulder and foot both left side..over a week ago i had aura only with numbness only in my right hand it didnt last 5 min in my hand..they have to be related somehow..thats the only time i have the numbness..ive had 3 attacks in the last week..my last one before these was over a yr ago or even a yr and a half??????????????  THANKS   JAMES

Thanks for writing in.
It is important to make sure that your BP is adequately controlled. Also the symptoms of migraine are very similar to that of stroke like numbness on one side of the body, dizziness and headache. You have only numbness with not much headache but still it is important to make sure your symptoms are not due to stroke. I would suggest you to consult your treating doctor and discuss the possibility of getting an MRI done.
Migraines can occur in a variety of ways, some people get only aura with no headache, some get both while others get only headaches. I would also suggest you to try out magnesium supplements as they have been known to prevent migraine attacks.
