by mich41, Aug 14, 2008 07:16PM
I had a brain scan done and they said I had abnormalaties in the white matter, now they are sending me for an MRI.  My headaches are so bad with dizziness and neck pain.  What the heck could abnormal white matter be?

Hi,

How are you?
I think what they mean is that you have lesions in the white matter. Lesions in the white matter can be seen in old age, diabetes, high BP, chronic alcoholism, stroke, migraine, Alzheimer’s disease and MS.
The exact cause can be identified only after a thorough clinical examination. Take care!
