can root canal cause ear pain

had a sharp pain in left ear, I related it to bad tooth ache, had a root canal last upper tooth 1 week ago, shart stabbing pain gone, but ear continues to have a dull pain and not infected went to MD a few days ago, being treated for sore throat/tonsil infection, have a head ache as well. Is the nerve in the ear aggravated from tooth and how long does it take to resolve? taking motrin to help with inflammation,
