child headaches

My 8 year old started complaining of a headache last night.  she said it hurt this morning when she woke up,  since then she has played a little but said that it hurts.  She wears classes so maybe thats what it is, but now she is crying? Could it be a migraine at the age of 8??

How is your daughter? Was there a history of trauma to the head? Are there other symptoms present? It could be caused by error of refraction, or from primary headaches. Ice pack and pain relievers may help. If this persists, check with her doctor for proper evaluation. Other headache causes including organic conditions should also be ruled out.
