clicking and headache

several months ago I noticed this weird clicking noise when i was rubbing my head on the right side above my temple. I get these headaches there and when i rubbed I heard it. Now, with or without the headaches, if I rub this one certain spot I hear clicking, and when i stop rubbing, it stops. Had a brain mri in december for something else that found nothing. Is an MRI of the brain the same as one of the head. What could this be

Hi,
Tinnitus can be normal if it occurs spontaneously once in a while. However, in your case, if it is brought about by rubbing the spot, it is best that further evaluation is done to rule out neurological issues and problems with your ear. To determine its severity, direct clinical examination  and complete physical examination is important. Take care.

Hi,
How are you? Are there other symptoms present? Tinnitus is ringing or other type of noise that seem to originate in the ear or head. This is not a disease but a symptom of an underlying condition. It can arise from the outer ear, the middle ear, the inner ear, or by abnormalities in the brain. MRI of the brain usually pick this up. However, if it persists, you may need to have this  and your headache checked by your doctor for proper evaluation .Direct clinical examination is important. Take care and do keep us posted.
