cluster headaches and deafness

Please would someone help. My husband has been having cluster headaches but the other day he lost his hearing in the opposite ear to the headache side. We went to emergency at hosp. brief exam, dr said hearing returning now, probably due to nerves in head. I am not happy with this. No further tests. Has anyone else had this strange experience?

Hi,
How are you? Cluster headache usually presents with pain and tearing in the eye, nose congestion, flushing of face and pain that frequently develops during sleep. Aside from neurological issues, It is also possible that the nasal congestion lead to ear symptoms since there is a connection between the nasal passage and the ear through the eustachian tube. A referral to an ENT doctor may help rule out any ear issues. Management with oxygen, ergotamine, sumatriptan or intranasal application of local anesthetic agent may help. take care and do keep us posted.
