constant headach for 7 weeks now!

My headache started about 7 weeks ago.  It is growing in intensity with time (or maybe I am becoming more sensitive to it or less able to deal with it).  It is usually in the very center of my head but sometimes will migrate to the front, back or sides.  Usually bilateral, but sometimes more on one side than the other.  I am not bothered by light or sounds any more than usuall.  My neck and upper back are tight and sore, this came on after the headaches.

I have been on many, many medications, all will take the edge off the pain but not make it go away.  Fiorecet, Imitrex, topomax, effexor, lortab, skelaxin, and others.  We have been the migrane route, the cluster route, and the tension route.  I have had a CT that came back normal, Blood work to rule out infection, hormonal causes, pregnancy, thiroid issues, and other general causes.

I am having issues functioning at my job and in my life.  These headaches are terrible and very frustrating.  Any ideas?

My dad has had a headache for over a month now and I am trying to find a diagnosis also. Do you have a funny taste, like mettalic, or does it hurt worse when you sneeze or cough?

Your headache description can fit into 'cervicogenic headache' (vertebral column and structures thereto causing headache), especially since your neck and upper back hurt. See if some particular position of head and neck while lying down helps.

Try to remember how the pain started. Or what do you think is the cause of the headache, neck and back pain.

A neuro will be able to find out if your neck is causing the problem.

Hope this helps
