Hi,

Your daughter’s symptoms of headache, vomiting and neck pain are most likely due to viral meningitis. It is very important that she undergoes a careful clinical exam because viral meningitis almost never recurs. However if it does recur it is known as Mollaret’s meningitis or benign recurrent lymphocytic meningitis. Herpes virus is the most common cause of Mollaret’s meningitis.
Prompt treatment with antiviral agents like Acycylovir is required. Please remember that most of these episodes are harmless.

Hope this helps!
