enlarged vein in forehead

I have noticed a vein in my forehead on the right side that starts at my hairline above the outside corner of my right eye and runs down along my hairline towards my ear.  It is engorged.  I do get headaches that i attribute to stress and eye strain.  Should I worry about this vein?

I am a 28 yr old female, and have the same thing, bulging vein, down the side of my hairline, extreme pain and perspiration only on that side (on my forehead).  It has been going on for a couple of months but I didn't care until someone else noticed.  Should I be concerned or is this a sign of a migraine?

Hi,
How are you? Are there other symptoms present? Try to apply a cold pack and see if the swelling or puffiness subsides. Otherwise, you may need to have this checked by your attending physician for proper evaluation. Direct clinical examination and your medical history are important. Take care and do keep us posted.

HI. I too have an enlarged vein from top of right forehead hairline, down towards ear, bout 1 1/2 inches total length. Never had this problem before. No color, just enlarged and raised. I am a 37 yr old male, no eye problems, no nasal discharge, no headaches, relatively healthy. Same as above. Thanks,

Mark

Hi,

How old are you? Is the vessel red and painful? Are there any associated tearing and eye redness? Any nasal discharge ?

Without the symptoms mentioned above, I do not think that the engorged vessel is a cause of alarm. You may seek an initial assessment with your primary physician for a baseline physical examination. You may need to have your headaches classified and underlying sinus and eye problems may need to be ruled out.
