I have been suffering for about a year now with tremendous headaches. It is now to the point that I can only be upright for about 15-30min at a time. Only lying down makes them go away. I have no quality of life and struggle to take care of my family. I also have balance problems, numbness on the left side of my face, sometimes my left ear seems clogged, and chorea without huntingtons. I am 39 and female. I have had MRI, spinal tap. EEG with no findings. Also tried allergy med, and lots of pain killers to no avail.

I'm really sorry to hear how much the headaches are impacting your quality of life. It sounds like you have probably already been to a neurologist since you have had an MRI and a spinal tap... even though there were no abnormal findings with anything, did they give you a diagnosis for the headaches? Did they tell you what type of headaches they were? Often if a headache isn't being caused by something abnormal... then it will be diagnosed as a tension headache or a migraine, etc... did they suggest what sort of headache it could be?

I agree with marileew......Have any Dr's spoke of migraines/headaches?  What type of pain killers?  Have they tried beta blockers, seizure meds or anything else?  Balance problems are not new for me either, also numbness in my right leg.  My Family Dr is great and we work on therapy for the balance issue, which was helping but I had another episode and now have some of the balance issues back.

Have you tried ice/heat?  I am just trying to think of anything to help your quality of life, so sorry you are going through all this.  Know you aren't alone.

Sorry to hear about all your troubles, I have had migraines all my life, and have been told i have 2 different kinds. One is menstrual migraines, they come with my period every month and last from 1 to 4 days. I was told by another dr that I have migraines as a result from a neck injury from when i was 2 years old. I am on all kinds of meds too, go to ER for shots frequently. Have  you ever tried going to a chiropractor? I recently started going to one and it feels  incredible. My headaches have not stopped completely but sure have cut down. I never dreamed a chiropractor could help, but now i am convinced. Good Luck.
