headache & blurry vision

i get headaches along with blurry vision. the blurriness is usually on one side of my eyes and i can still see it when i close my eyes. these headaches usually last 30 minutes. what is this?!?!?!

Hi,

This sounds like how my migraines were for awhile in the beginning when I first started to get them; I had blurriness only on the peripheral sides of my eyes for a some time with a headache that followed. I had all kinds of different vision distortions come and go.  They have been changing over the years and it's hard to recall to the doctors all the variations of symptoms I have had up until now.   Jule645

Hope you are doing better.
It is quite possible that you are suffering from migraine. Migraine headaches are characterized by an aura during which symptoms like blurry vision, zig zag lines, flickering lights and ringing in the ears occurs. This is followed by one sided throbbing headaches.
I would suggest you to discuss this possibility with your PCP. Also maintain a headache diary this will help you in identifying the trigger for your headaches. Meanwhile avoid caffeine, red wine, processed meats, aged cheese, Chinese food which contains MSG and artificial sweeteners.
