headache related to C6-7 cervical compression

For several months I have been having terrible headaches, the worst one came on Saturday and today is Tuesday and I'm still suffering! I have missed work all week as it hurts to move my head and there is a very sore spot on the left side of my head near my ear.  I recently had a MRI of my lumbar and cervical spine and it showed compression fractrures of the C6-7.  I'm wondering if that can be causing these terrible headaches. What about going to a chriopractor or massage therapy or should I go see my doctor?

Hi,
How are you? Bony changes of the structures of the neck such as compression of the cervical spine may indeed cause headaches. The pain usually intensifies on movement.  Muscle relaxants and pain relievers may help. However, it is best that you check with your doctor for proper management. Take care and do keep us posted.
