headaches and numbness

Last year I thought I had a stroke... My left side went numb and tingly and I still have numbness. I had a mri of the brain and nothing was founded.. they put me on topromax for the headaches they just increased it because i was still having the headaches. they dont understand why im am still having numbness on the left side.. they ordered a mri of the neck.. I asked the dr. if the mri that I had in 2004 showed that I had a pinched nerve in my neck would that be the cause of the numbness and he told me no... I need to know why i am having this numbness. with the headaches..

Have you ever figured out what was wrong.  My mom has the same symptoms. Thanks missy
