light is the one thing i cant stand when i experience headaches.went to a GP who referred me to an eye specialist.she reckons its something to do with my eyes.however,i dont think the eye specialist was thorough in his investigations coz he just did a couple of tests and refered me to an optician without even explaining anything to me

Hi,
How are you? Can you elaborate on the character of your headache?  If there was no trauma to your head, this can be attributed to primary headaches such as migraine, tension or cluster headaches. Migraine headaches, that can be triggered by light, food, hormones and other activities usually present with pounding headache  in one side of the head only. Rest, ice packs, pain relievers or prescription medications, and identification of the possible triggers of the headache may help. Avoidance of these triggers may also prevent the headache from occurring. Take care and do keep us posted.
