huntingtons disease

Hi, I am pretty sure I have huntingtons disease because it runs in my family and I have all of the symptoms. I had a mild head injury about 4 months ago that started it. It used to start with headaches. I would lie awake at night with terrible burning, tingling, and mind dissolving headaches that felt like something was literaly eating away my brain. Now I don't have headaches and I can't feel it but when it happens my nervous system goes nuts and I have weird involuntary movements. It used to be a neck twitch but now its in my arms. They just randomly fling upwards. Two nights ago during when of these episodes I had a seizure and my mom found me and took me to the er. They didn't do anything though because I had an MRI months ago that was normal. I used to be a very intelligent person. But now I have lost nearly all mental function associated with vision as it usually occurs in the back of my head. I also have a terrible memory now that gets worse everyday. Tunnel vision and blurred vision accompany me everywhere.I feel like a completely different person. Today I fell when trying to walk down the stairs because my legs gave out. Multi-tasking is now impossible and so is cognitive learning. I am going to the doctor today for a test but I was wondering if any of you had any ideas on what this could be. Please let me know if you have any suggestions I'm losing my mind and just sit around crying all day.

hi,
How are you? How did it go? This is a blood test that can determine, in almost all cases, whether a person has the HD gene. There are three categories of testing:
   1. Presymptomatic testing, for people at risk for HD
   2. Confirmatory testing determines whether people showing possible symptoms actually have HD
   3. Prenatal testing is used to determine whether a fetus is at risk for HD.

The testing procedure involves sessions with various professionals. It typically includes one session devoted to each of the following: genetic counseling; a neurologic exam; a pychological interview; discussion of the results; and followup.
