Hi,
How are you? It is good that the tests done were normal. Since ice pick headaches come and go so quickly, it is difficult to take medications at the time of attack. If you experience it frequently, you may need preventative medications such as non-steroidal anti inflammatory drugs, anti-depressant drugs and anti-epileptic drugs. It is best that you talk to your doctor for proper management. Aside from medications, relaxation techniques may be helpful when an ice-pick headache strikes. Remain calm and take slow, deep breaths. Removing the stressors may also help. Take care and do keep us posted.

Hi,
Indomethacin is one of the medicines prescribed for this type of primary headache. However, due to its side effects, it is usually shifted to other medications. Talk to your doctor about this. Your medical history is important for evaluation.  If the prescribed medicine is not working, inform your doctor about this also for proper management.A change of medicine or dosage may be indicated. Take care always.

Hi,
Depakine chrono tab which contains Na valproate is usually indicated for epilepsy or seizures and can also be used for ice pick headaches. There are some studies showing  preventive daily medications ( antiepilepsy and antidepression medications) like this may help.  Take care and regards.
