incapacitating head ache

by kochu1, Jun 28, 2009 05:31AM
hello,
i'm a 27yr old  working woman. i'm 5ft 5inch tall and weigh around 50kg. i suffer from headache which is usually associated with nausea. it started few years back when i was a student. i always found reasons those days for it as it was mostly associated with long journeys, sleepless nights or menstruation sometimes. as one of my cousin suffered from migraine, i thought it could be the same. it was usually one sided. and if i manage to vomit, i may get some relief. i found severe difficulty facing lights or even whispers around me during these episodes.  i felt  a pounding sensation in my head during the episode and left me incapacitated. but it was all once in a while. as i grew older the episodes became more frequent. and now it occurs without any precipitating factor as per me. it causes svere nausea, but no vomiting. i may get it when i wake up in the morning even. even if i take pain killers it leaves me inacapacitated and i suffer it for long duration.i havenot gone to a doctor yet and not done any investigations. for the past one year, i've been working in an area where there is radiation involved. i wonder if anything to do with this, as i  have more episodes during these days?

It sure sounds like migraines.  You might go to a neurologist to investigate preventatives since your migraines are frequent.

I had someone try a treatment for me regarding radiation (it was an acupuncturist).  One of the times, I thought it might have helped.  But, it seemed really strange.  She had me hold a container that contained radiation while she did a treatment.  Then, I  was supposed to avoid radiation for so many hours- including sunlight, microwave, etc..
