incidental finding on brain scan

incidental finding on brain scan

I recently had an MRI of my head done to determine the cause(s) of my headaches. The pain gets so bad at times that even when showering, when the water hits my head, it's intolerable ( a12 on a pain scale of 1 - 10). My doctor called and referred me to a neurologist for an "incidental finding of an empty feeler where the meninges is supposed to be. Also, there's supposed to be a structure there that isn't viewable on the scan". My doc is Chinese and I may have lost something in the translation, which is why I'm asking. I'm to have a consult within a week with the neurologist, but would appreciate any insight you could give me in this matter.

Hi,

Thanks for writing in.
It is very difficult to give an opinion without looking at the report and without clinical examination.
What other symptoms do you have apart from headache and since how long?
Please elaborate.

HI, may I suggest u request a copy of ur MRI on disk and a copy of the report as well.....it makes things such as forgetting what was said to just not understanding much easier since u have a reference.

It is likely that something has been lost in the translation.

But if your neuro consult is going to take time, why don't you post the digital copy of the scans in some site (even a blogsite) and give us the link, so that we can take a peek?

Best rgds,

Thomas Antony
