is it migraine or something else

I am almost 39 years of age. I have suffered from migraines for the past 10 + years. Recently, I have been getting no relief from my migraine medication. The pain is usually on the left side of my face. My gums swell around the teeth(and I have no cavities) and I have knots at the back of my neck(I take a muscle spasm medication everyday) and it hurts for days and sometimes weeks. I am hurting so badly all of the time and I don't know what to do next. I would really appreciate some help because this pain intrudes on my every day life. Thank you

Hi,
How are you? Gum swelling may be attributed to a variety of conditions such as infection, gingivitis, sensitivity to toothpaste, nutritional issues, scurvy and even medicine side effect. This could be directly or indirectly associated with your headaches but for definite diagnosis, it is best that you have this checked by your doctor. If your present medication is not helping, inform your attending physician for proper management. Take care and do keep us posted.
