location of basilar atury

I would like to find out the location of the basilar artery.

The basilar is the main blood vessel that comes up from the spinal cord to feed the brain most of the blood it gets. That's why a basilar migraine can effect any of the four lobes of the brain.

How are you?  Basilar artery supplies the brain with oxygen-rich blood and located deep inside the brain. It connects the cerebellar arteries to the cerebral artery which supply the posterior and anterior parts of the brain, respectively. I hope this helps. Take care and regards.

My name is Elizabeth.
     My husband, Gary, is a heart and stoke patient.
     On 04/26/2012 he under went a Lexiscan Stress/Rest Gate Myocardial Perfusion Scan.
     Findings:  There is evidence of a severe fixed defect involving the apex consistent with infarct. There is evidence of a severe fixed defect involving the basilar portion of the inferior wall consistent with infarct. There is a minimal degree of per-infarct ischemia involving the mid inferior wall.
    Gate SPECT imaging demonstrates septal hypokinesis with apical akinesis. There is mild hypokinesis of the basal portion of the or wall. There is mild global LV dysfunction. The overall left ventricular ejection fraction is calculated at 41% (normal is equal to or greater than 50%)
     The TID Ratio is 1.3 This is elevated.
Impression:  
1. Severe defects involving the basilar portion of the inferior wall and apex consistent with infarct. Minimal peri-infarct ischemia involving the mid inferior wall is identified.
2. Mild global left the jugular dysfunction with septal hypokinesis, apical akinesis, and hypokinesis of the basilar portion of the inferior wall. Left ventricular ejection fraction of 41%.
3. Elevated T.I.D. ratio can be seen in the setting of balanced ischemia. Clinical correlation suggested.
