migraines and tremors

Oh, and my migraines are almost daily. I have tried the various supplements and do not do over the counter except that I tried baby aspirin.  No luck with beta and calcium-channel blockers.  Tested for anti-phospholipid, lupus, scleroderms, etc. 1:320 ANA speckled; 1:160 and 1:80 and 1:40 homogeneous pattern.  Has been coming down and now normal.

Also herniated disk not touching cervical cord; no spinal stenosis noted.  No infections, bateria, fungi, TB or other diseases found in spinal fluid, etc.  Last LP after dose of prenisone and methyprednisone earlier in year.  No abnormalities noted.

Numbness in various facial areas for over a year at a time; Lots a parathesias and/or tingling.  Lermitte's this past year.  Dizziness, forgetfulness, reading difficulties, word retrieval, and falling this past year.  Normal strength, but weakness/heaviness sensation in limbs (especially legs and right arm).  Right arm sometimes feels like it is going to fall off body, especially with migraines or fibromyalgia-like painful periods.  Bilateral carpal tunnel.  Normal SSEPs otherwise.  Pain usually right temple area.  Sometimes periodically jabbing behind the eye, initially.  Not often now.  Headaches switch sides or become bilateral now.  Often facial pain, too, with intractable migraines.  Last one felt past jaw joint and in teeth.  Usually more mastoid and not TMJ like.  Last one started this summer and continued even post Toradol.  Finally somewhat better after phenergan and Dilaudid IV.

About six months before last big lesion, eye doctor noted that eyes were funny in that the discs were not pale or cupped, but the retinal vessels were swollen such as is seen in nerve deterioration.  The next visit was normal and eye doctor said vision problems due to opthalmic migraines and some kind of psycho-physical disorder.  He said that it is not psychological, though.  Any input greatly appreciated.

Thank you, again!

Thank you, so much.

I was criticized by my insurance company for my last trip to the ER.

I simply told them that they WILL pay for it.

We will see what happens.

I just went to a new MS specialist to see if I truly have MS, lupus, sarcoidosis, or Lyme disease, etc.  Perhaps my migraine is secondary to one of them.  I should know by September.  That seems so long away.  Yet, nothing to how long you have been suffering with your migraines.

It seems that they can just extort the pleasure of life from a person.  I am so happy that you are doing so much better.

Thank you, again, for the info.

Sorry it took so long to get back to you.  But, the cops took my car out of my driveway because the license expired when I was away from home with illness.  They thought it was so funny.  I am suffering with transverse myelitis right now.  But, I managed to get to the library to write you back.

You keep going, okay?

Perhaps you can send me one of your great recipes.

Where do you work at?

Bon Appetite'!

I must say that anyone suffering with migraines are giants of pain and must be commended.  I have been suffering since I was a small child and am almost 50 years old now.  I have been getting worse and worse each year to the point of being bed ridden for a year before a doctor gave me some pain meds and other items.  My daily pain has become better with dilaudid daily and many other items of gabapentin, verapamil, amatyrptaline, lexapro, lopressor, tizadine.  What a cocktail but it keeps me productivity and ok to be a chef daily working 14 hour days.  I hope this may help that some people need to be taken care of before they are judged.

I empathize with you, since I too had almost daily migraines when we lived 5 years in Canada (Saskatoon).  Do your shoulders or neck hurt when you don't have a migraine?  Notice my previous post about the solution to which God led me for my "muscle" migraines, from which he released me through my "doorpost" therapy.  I also found that Imitrex stopped just about every migraine in its tracks, but now I am free of that medication too.  You are on my daily prayer list, if you are willing.

HI I am a mother of 5 and suffer almost daily from intense migraines hta include the vomitting and serious dizziness and muscle twitches with them. I can also have the other symptoms after the migraine has left. This lasts usually for a couple weeks. During this time I am litterally on the couch and able to do NOTHING. My husband is a superman so he takes care of worka nd all the kids and al their needs. Thank god for him. Although, he is getting very frustrated now. He keeps taking me to emerg as if they will have an answer. I have had many MRI's and cat scans and they come back normal. It is very frustrateing. I also have the aura for about 45 minutes before the migrraine attack and I could be anywhere when it starts. It is definatly worse the week before my period. My mood is hoppible as well because I feel as though I will be sick forever. IO get very depressed just laying in pain watching my husband struggle to keep the children ahppy and on top of the housework etc. Please let me know if there is any help. I am in Canada. Oh, and I have tried all natural approaches as wella nd for a month they worked and then it wore off and back to the headaches. They are unbearable. thanks

I empathize.  I had almost-daily, sometimes-twice-daily migraines for about nine years, most of which started in the left-back of my head and spread over my whole head causing nausea and vomiting; but God used surgery on my right shoulder to lead me to a non-medical solution after many medications, including imitrex, which was the most effective for me.
Let me explain.  Leading up to my surgery, I had 11 migraines in those previous nine days.  In fact, I had a migraine on the way 2 1/2 hours to surgery.  Suddenly, the surgery stopped my migraines for a whole week, when I fell down flat on my right shoulder.  Then, the migraines resumed immediately!  Well, being an experimental sort, I began to push on those muscles in my right shoulder, which is really good now, by the way.  Well, I found that I must have what one woman described on the Internet as "muscle" migraines.  When I found a particularly-painful muscle, I began pressing it against the doorpost daily, and now after working on that muscle only 5 or 10 minutes (which stops the migraine immediately if I have the right spot), I am virtually migraine-free (all of 2008 and so far so good in 2009)!
You may not have this kind of migraine, but maybe my experience can help someone.  (I told this experience to my neurologist, and he had never heard of such a thing.  But doctors don't know everything!)   Best regards!

Hi,  I have sufered migraines for 20 years now.  I have some of the exact same problems you are having too.  I get my migraines in my right eye and right temple with vomitting and stabbing pains.  I think at times I will lose my sanity.  I have had every test and every exam and taken every so called wonder drug for migraines and only one medicine helps me.  I had a neurologist in California put me on medical marijuana and it saved my life.  I still have migraines, but I can prevent vomitting within 30 secs b/c of medical marijuana.  I also do not take pain meds anymore.  I am still on this journey to understanding the way to cure migraines, but I wanted to share something that could give you some relief you seek.
Wish you good healing!
