Hi
Loss of speech and memory are symptoms of migraine but they may be due to the side effect of the medication Topamax (topiramate). Are you currently on this medication?
Topamax (topiramate) is indicated in adults for the prophylaxis of migraine attacks. Memory loss and slurred speech may be due to this medication. Topamax can cause language disturbances like not being able to think of the right word, mixing words up, difficulty coming up with the words you want to use.  This is not seen with patients on other drugs. These symptoms were mild, and usually disappeared after a sometime.
The other common side effects seen during clinical trials of topamax were tiredness, pins and needles in the fingers and toes, dizziness, nausea, diarrhea, indigestion, dry mouth, weight lost, decrease in appetite, drowsiness, forgetfulness, difficulty with concentration or attention, difficulty in sleeping (insomnia), mood swings, depression, changes in taste and vision disorders.
You should discuss with your doctor about your concern. He will perhaps be able to judge which treatment would suit you the best.
Take care
