mild head injury followed by increasingly bad headaches and loss of mental function, nerve damage?

Hey, I had a mild head injury at the end of february and never quite recovered from it because I kept slightly bumping my head or stressing out about it. But I was slowly getting better. I got an MRI one month ago that was normal and right after the MRI I began deteriorating. I get burning, tingling, and stabbing head aches on both sides around the back of my head but they are always in a specific place and the spot feels burnt for about a day afterwards. This doesn't bother me too much but with the headaches has come severe loss of mental function. I was an intelligent writer and composer and now I can barely get through the day or remember what has happened. My memory gets worse and worse everyday it is so bad and it won't get better. What should I do?

Hi,

Your symptoms seem to indicate a cluster headache. It is a type of headache that is onesided, arrives without warning and is stabbing and piercing in nature.I would advise you to schedule an appointment with oyur neurologist as soon as possible. In the meantime you can take OTC pain killers and try doing some breathing exercises. Good luck!
