neckandheadache

a full month ago I was diagnosed with viral meningits..No I did not do a spinal tap.  However, I had a nasty congestion cold in the nose,, and in the chest.  After about 3 days, I woke with a head spinning, sever neck stiffness, as well as a bad headache.  I am not a normal headache sufferer.  I am 46 years old, and waited until 4 days later till I went to urgent care.  The pain was so severe, I had no choice but to seek medical attention.  I am not on ANY meds (prior) to this appointment.  I was told that it "sounded" like viral meningitis.  Went home with some pain reliever and told to return in a week for a follow up.  After a cat scan, and an MRI, I was first told they both came back "normal".  I have seen 2 different doctors, a nurse practitioner, er nurse and doctor, as well as the tech at the MRI.  These people have told different opinions on what they thought was wrong.  Now, I have now returned to the "first" doc that saw me, and he finally took the time to read the MRI and said it stated I had "slight abnormalties".  What?   I was livid that the other doc that had read the MRI told me it was normal.  What am I to believe??  Now I am sent home with yet more pain reliever and told to return in 2 weeks.  If the pain is gone, "pointless" to get a "contrast MRI"  if the pain is still an ordeal, he will then order this more detailed MRI.    So I am suppose to just wait it out, and hope these people who are spending 10 minutes with an appointment with me are on the right track??? If it was your wife,  what would you suggest?
