I've got a non-stop daily headache that I've seemed to try EVERYTHING to get rid of. If you haven't got a spinal tap, you should. I know, I know, the idea of this procedure kinda *****, but I just had it done a month ago and it wasn't that bad (just find a good nuero to do it).
What I was hoping I had (and what you may have) is psuedo-tumor cerebri. It's basically a non-stop headache along with eye pain and some other symptoms (you can google it) that's caused by an elevated level of spinal fluid, so it mimics a tumor, but it isn't.
Hi
Headaches at the back of the head may have occipital neuralgia, cervicogenic headaches, tension type headaches and migraine headaches as differentials. A scan of the cervical spine will be able to assess if an underlying disorder of the cervical spine may be contributing to the pain. Cervicogenic headaches may also refer pain to the face. Arthritic or musculoskeletal causes have to be ruled out. Occipital neuralgia usually occurs after a mechanical injury to the head or neck. Tension type headaches may present with a tightness. The tight band may be present over the neck, the back of the head and the temples. Migraine headaches are only given as a diagnosis when all other conditions have been ruled out.
Was a baseline scan of the cervical spine done?
Any redness or tearing of the eye?
Compare with other alternative med,Both acupuncture and chiropractic are works for your condition.but intensive acupuncture have been strong recommended.take care!
I know this is going to sound crazy, but try going to a chiropractor.
My husband went through something similar....he head a headache for 9 months straight. He had a CAT scan, MRI, went to see a neurologist, had took topamax but nothing nothing helped. No one could figure out what was wrong with him. He event tired yoga and meditation and acupuncture. I know this is going to sound crazy, but try going to a chiropractor. Within 3 sessions he could already feel a huge difference. For 9 months he had this and for 9 months we could not to a single thing to make it go away....within a few sessions with the chiropractor, his headaches were gone.
Hi, occipital headache may result from inflammation, injury, or pressure on the occipital nerves, upper cervical spinal roots, hypertension etc. It might be tension headache too.
But you have tried all possible remedies, best is to get yourself investigated ( MRI, LP etc). MRI is needed to rule out brain lesions and LP to rule out increased intracranial pressure.
Try meditation and acupuncture.
