odor triggers headache

Has anyone ever heard of a severe sudden headache being triggered by the smell of strong mouthwash?  My husband uses a very strongly odored mouthwash that I find fairly awful.  Yesterday, I smelled it from downstairs and after I went in the bathroom, I had a bad headache within 5 minutes.  I get headaches often (clusters).  BTW, my husband, tough guy that he is, says that bad smells never hurt anyone, so I'll never convince him!

Buy him a couple of other mouthwashes. And throw the one he is using away. So you will have a big fight, so what. It is better than a big headache. Just keep throwing out his mouthwash if he replaces it.

Hi,
How are you?Primary headaches can be triggered by a lot of conditions including weather, food, light and some odor. Talk to him about this or you can bring him to your doctors appointment with you if the headache recurs. Rest, ice pack, and pain medications may help provide relief. Take care and do keep us posted.

Thanks for the replies.  Happened to a lesser degree last night.  Ice pack is a great idea.
