osteoma causing migraines?

by Coral4157, May 06, 2009 07:04AM
Can an osteoma on the right side base of my skull measuring 1.5cm x 3cm (it is visible and palpable...extremely) be causing migraines on the left side of my head? I have been suffering from chronic headache/migraines for the last 8 months. My dr. did an MRI to check for a tumor and what I have is chronic sinusitis (asymptomatic, as I have no post nasal drip or runny nose at all) and the osteoma that I already knew about years ago. I know that the sinusitis can cause headaches/migraines but I had surgery on my sinuses 5 years ago and have never had a problem since. I keep getting told that these migraines are stress related, but having a migraine everyday causes more stress.

Hi,
It is less likely that the osteoma on the right side of skull is causing migraines on the left side. Please go for the X-rays of the sinuses once again . If chronic sinusitis is ruled out, the migraines could be stress related. Please avoid the aggravating factors like stress, anxiety, strong smells, lights and sounds .Please consult your physician. Hope this helps you. Take care and regards !
