If I miss a dose or two I wake up in the middle of the night with my husband standing over me screaming "are you ok and I'm just looking at him like what are you talking about why is there blood allover my face? I don't feel good!" I keep that stuff on back order lol...
I take the topamax for migraine prevention; also I saw I was getting low and tapered off somewhat so maybe that's why I didn't have those issues. What did happen was some severe anxiety (I'm already taking Buspar) and I thought I was starting perimenopause (I'm 46) but that seems to have gone. Thanks, as always, for you help and concern!
Hi,
How are you? I didn't mean to terrify you. I do understand the reason behind your discontinuing the medicine. But if it has been two weeks already with no withdrawal effects, then that is good to hear. This may be because you do not have history of seizure in the past. But it would really help if you inform your doctor about this, especially if you will be taking the medicine again next week. Take care always.
It's been probably over 2 weeks now-if I were to experience those effects would it have happened by now? Now I'm slightly terrified!!
Can you afford to get part of the Rx filled; a week's worth?
Does your physician have samples of this medication?
I would not be off this medication for a week.
Abruptly stopping Topamax or Topiramate may lead to withdrawal side effects such as confusion, loss of hearing or sight, fear, panic, convulsions, difficulty talking, falling down, seizure and other associated symptoms like eye rolling or fluttering, foot stomping, lip smacking, grunting or making sounds, shaking, stiffening, sweating, tremors, and twitching. This is usually tapered tapered off by your doctor by adjusting the dosage gradually over time. talk to your doctor about this. Sample medications from your doctor is one option to explore. Take care and best regards.
