peculiar smell

I can smell a burning toast kind of smell on and off most days. I suffer from migraines but can't relate this smell to the migraines. Does anyone know if this is related to migraines or could it be something else. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

Migraines may present with auras and  usually these may be visual symptoms ( blurring of vision), numbness and slurring of speech. The best thing now is to have a neurologic appoinment done so that a complete neurologic examination may be done. Migraines are usually given as a diagnosis when all other underlying conditions have been ruled out. A seizure disorder such as  partial seizures ( which may present also iwth neurologic symptoms) have to be excluded. A EEG and a scan may help.

I can't say that it is, I can only describe it as a burning smell, but I can't really relate it to my migraines as I get it more often than not at some point most days.
