prednisone for prolonged migraine

has anyone here ever been given prednisone for a prolonged migraine?  if so, how long did it take to kick in?

I have been given prednizone for about 10 days ans it slowly started to disapear I would say within a week i felt a difference. I still am trying to figure out if it was a migrane . It felt different from my usual headackes. More intence and like a tramendose pressure and sensativity to light sound. tremendos sencetivity in my ears like exposed nerves. So I went to ear and nose specialist and my hearing and all the tests including mri was fine. they prescribed prednezone. it helped that was 6 month ago. May be I should go to a neurologist ... Did you take it did it helped

My husband was prescribed it once but refused to take it due to the potential side affects.  I know prednisone is sometimes given for severe allergy problems.  I had to take it one time due to an anaphylactic allergic reaction to ibuprofen...I do remember that it makes you really hungry.  I mean uncontrollably hungry, 24/7.  But if that is what it takes to be pain free and get better, it would sure be worth it to me.
