savere head pain

by bonddog, Feb 02, 2008 10:51PM
On the average i have savere headachs on the average of three to four times a week they are very savere and tend to happen at night. they are in the temple area and on the sides of my head on a scale from 1-10 they average 5-6 almost nightly. i have been to the emergency room numerus times with no answers plenty of ct scans and plenty of mri's as well as a mra and the same still no answers. i have been to a nueroogist and have been put on everything from maxalt that made the pain worse. then they put me on topamax.  with no change . Now im on imatrex and it works slightly but its a quick fix and still have the pains.  One of the visits i was hospatilized when a cat scan found that i had a savere sinusitus was treated and relesed with a fallow up ct scan with no sign of sinusitus do you have any suggestions to talk with my Dr about as to find what is causing these problems the drugs they give me in the hospital are very strong but do the job and i just want to live without these headachs or find a way to get them under control.
Thank you
Brian

Hi Brian,

Have you consulted with an ENT specialist? You have been diagnosed wih a sinus problem during one of your consults, it may be possible that this sinus problem is not being addressed as it should. A complete examination of the eyes, ears , nasal passages and throat may help rule out their involvement.Another thing is , do you have a history of asthma, allergies or allergic rhinitis?
