slight post-workout head pain

About three weeks ago, I was working out at the gym. I was doing a chest press, and it started getting difficult, and I suddenly experienced a big pain on the left side of my head. I have no idea why it happened but it may have been due to improper breathing (but I'm not sure at all.) As I came back days after, the pain came back when the weights started getting heavier, so I took about 2 weeks off from working out.

The pain is now completely gone, and I go workout with the same weight, but with more precaution. However, a lot of the time, up to 2 days after working out even, I have slight tingles in my head. Sometimes in the back of my head, and sometimes to the side. Right now it's at the top right corner of my head (I think shere a vessel is) My friends say it could just be a slight tingle from muscles twitching or unimportant blood vessels.

I would appreciate your help a lot, because not sure at all whether these very slight pains are normal (up to 1 or 2 days after) or not.

migraine can be precipitated by physical stress and exercise is one form of it. I would suggest please aviod heavy exercises for sometime. yes maintain proper hydration. also in some patients ergomar has been effective if taken before exercise. Please consult your doctor about it.

Hi,
Such headaches are fairly common with heavy workouts and exercises. You should take care that you maintain adequtae hydration and see that you do not have hypoglycemia or low blood sugar levels due to the workouts. Other than that what can be done is that you carry some OTC pain killers and take them the next time you have such a headache and see if those work. Next time you visit your physician for your regular check up do let him know of your symptoms. And you surely must be doing your weight training under supervision and after checking with your physician
