stinging headache

I have been having a stinging headache on the right side of the top back of my head. It is recuring and sometimes lasts off and on for several days. It is becoming more frequent. What cause could account for this type of headache?

My son has been suffering from vertigo for couple of months. He went to the Doctor a couple of weeks ago. The Doctor said he had an inner ear problem. Also suffering from acid reflux, he took Prilosec however it is not resolved. He took a routine blood test, results normal. Couple of weeks ago he was complaining of sharp pains in his eyes. Now he says he is feeling stinging headaches. My son is 24 years old male.

Hi,
How are you? One-sided throbbing headache is usually attributed to migraine headache. It can be accompanied by nausea, vomiting, and sensitivity to light and sound.  Rest, ice pack, relaxation techniques, and avoidance of triggers may help provide relief. If it persists, have this checked by your doctor for proper evaluation. Take care and do keep us posted.
