Have you had any baseline tests done? An MRI or CT scan? When was the last one taken?
You have mentioned that you have been having migraines for years. Have your headaches changed in character lately? Have you noted any increase in severity, presence of any new symptoms like visual symptoms, weakness or numbness of extremities?
I suggest that you have a consult with a neurologist so that your headaches will be reclassified. Headaches that may initially start as migraines may transform into chronic daily headaches due to medication over use .In your case, have you been taking medications for greater than 10 days per month for three months ? A complete physical examination including an ophthalmologic examination may be able to shed some light. Other differentials will be an underlying eye problem that presents with a headache, a spine disorder, occipital neuralgia, tension headaches and sinus headaches.
I know this is frustrating. Just deal with this as positively as you can.Openly discuss your concerns with your physician. Cognitive and behavioural therapy as well as other forms of alternative therapy like acupuncture may complement your physician's own management and may be beneficial. Eat well and set regular schedules of for meal times and sleep.
iam 26 yrs old and i had a cat scan last tuesday when i was in the hospital it showed nothing i have had cat scan when i was younger dont rember if they saw anything then. i have been taking alot of meds this week to deal with it, but before i only took my meds once in a while. i know for sure i always get migrianes the week before my period or when im on it sorry for so much info. so bascially im use to having a migriane every month for about 3 days ive learn to get use to it dont alwya use meds for them i hate taking pills so i try to just bare with it but these last 2 weeks have been unbareable. i did go to a migriane site where i found a doctor who speciallize in migrianes their only about 8 in california. so im going to make a appointment with him so hopefully i can get the help i need. all of the nueuroloist ive seen give me meds that i just get immune to or just dont work at all . oh and i have heard of going to a chiropractor but im deadly afriad of them i get sick to my stomach just when i hear knuckles being cracked eerrrrr. but i did just sign up to get massages every other week so hopefully that will lossen my tension up and relax me more.
what have u done to deal with it sometimes it feel better to just die then deal with it! its uncontrol pain all thru my body . i feel like such baggage to my husband and daughter i can never do much with them cause im always sick
I understand this is very frustrating for you.But let me commend you for being proactive about this. This sounds like a migraine headache which may be triggered by hormones and increased stress levels lately. You have noted that your headcahes have recently progressed and I do agree that this requires a specialist's assessment.Your headaches may need to be reclassified. You may discuss with your physician the advantages of preventive migraine therapy.
