Hi,

Did you inform your physician when you stopped taking the medications?

Firstly, you need to have your headaches classified. If these are migraine headaches then, certain drugs would be able to help. For tension headaches, these headaches usually present with pain involving the head as well as tightness over the upper back, shoulders and the neck.

Tension headaches may be readily managed using pain relievers (ibupofen, naproxen). You may discuss this with your physician. But do not take any medications or taper the medical dose of current medications without informing your doctor, as this in itself may lead to side effects.

You may also ask your physician to refer you for behavioural therapy and pain management specialist if these symptoms persist.
