Hi Nicole
I am in a similar position as you and have been suffering headaches, dizziness, nausea, fatigue etc since October 2007. I have had 3 major attack like this over the past 3 years that last months at a time. My GP thought it was Labrynthitis at first, but I have recently seen a neurologist who has diagnosed me with Basilar Migraine, and thinks I should go on a preventative medication (Topamax). I have yet to be started on this drug and so I am researching info about this, but nothing else has worked for me. I hope this might help?!?!
Hello, I have read your problem, I was suffering with severe migraine, infact I was admitted into hospital with suspected stroke, with the same symptons that you are, had a scan, everything clear, it was purely migraine, this I believe brought on by my change, I was prescribed Zolmitripan, you can only take two of these tablets in 24 hours, one to be taken at any one time.
These tablets are my lifeline, it zaps it within 1 hour and I continue the day as normal, no one would know that I had had a migraine
I hope this info helps.
Sue
Hi,
How old are you Nicole?
Have you been assessed by a physician before ? Was the diagnosis of a migraine given by your doctor?
If not,i suggest you seek consult with a neurologist. This may not be a cause of urgent alarm since this has been present for a few months already.Would you be able to point out any triggers for your headaches? Are you taking anything to relieve the symptoms?
Given that there are neurologic symptoms like numbness and speech problems, your physician needs to work you up thorughly first before a diagnosis of migraine is given. A scan will be able to help rule out any intracranial involvement.
So it is best to be evaluated first so that your headaches will be properly classified and managed.
