Ok so here's a little back story. I have endometriosis and pelvic congestive syndrome and had a Mirena IUD placed in the beginning of last month (about 5 weeks ago). After the initial pain after insertion, I hadn't had many complaints.
This past weekend, my husband and I went tod a popular Halloween destination and he convinced me (it really did take convincing as I'm a terrible chicken) to go through a couple of haunted houses. After the second haunted house, I realized how tense all of my muscles were. After I tried to relax, I was in an incredible amount of pain in my lower abdomen. I already had my monthly cycle, so I wasn't bleeding and hadn't experienced any terrible cramps up until this point.
My stomach hurt like I was being stabbed for about an hour after this. When the severe pain subsided, I had moderate cramps and light spotting. About 24 hours have passed, the cramps have mostly subsided, but I am still bleeding very lightly.
My question is, could my tension and jumping have caused my IUD to become out of place? Or am I worrying over nothing? My GYN is out of the office this week and I don't want to go to the emergency room unless there's truly a need for concern.
