1st follow up after d&c/miscarriage

Hi everyone! Ok so i went for my 2 week follow up after my d&c & was surprised that they didnt do a pelvic exam or internal sono?!? I have been getting my hcg levels checked & theyre going done fine but i just thought they would do more than just push on my stomach & ask me questions. My question is is this normal? What was your doc appt like? Thanks!

I'm sorry for your loss. I always got checked even if I was bleeding or not. it seems every dr does things differently. Do you have another app or is this is? I would call the dr if you are still uncertain or speak to his or her nurse. Take care and best wishes to you.

I had my one month follow up today and he didnt do an exam at all.  He told me the results of the autopsy of my baby.  He said since I already had an internal exam and quit bleeding there is no need to do a further exam.  Best of luck to you.

Sooo sorry for your loss:{
~I had a 1 WEEK follow up after D&C. I did have an internal exam and the Dr cleaned my cervix, and boy that hurt. I wasn't ready for an internal exam yet. I hadn't bleed for about 4 days and the night b4 the appointment, I started bleeding heavy, but I was still going to get the exam regardless. They also did a preg test and it was positive and my HCG levels haven't been checked at all. The Dr said no more follow ups, he just said to come back when I'm pregnant again. I was expecting a follow up in about a month or so.... guess not!!!!

Two weeks after my D&C I was still bleeding....that is the only reason they did an internal exam and an internal ultrasound.  I have my one month follow-up on Monday so I will let you know what happens at that one.

My two week after my d&c they did push on my stomach to check the size of the uterus to make sure it went back to normal, and she did a pelvic exam to make sure my cervix was closed up.  She did not check my HCG levels because I had already stopped bleeding by that point and she didn't have a reason to. I think if your levels don't go down you will continue to bleed that would indicate there would be a need for an ultrasound... to make sure there isn't any retained miscarriage contents left in the uterus.  I am full of questions at my doctors appointments and they are great about explaining things, I had all the questions you did.  Sorry for your loss.
