I am 39 and have had two m/c in the last 8 months. I went to the doctor at 9 weeks but there was no heart beat, had an exact repeat just yesterday. I am RH neg and have had the imm. injection. We want a baby so bad. My daughter is almost 16 and I had no issues at all with her in my pregnancy. So worried
Just wanted to say, I read you're start and that is awesome. I'm so happy to hear your husband and you are finally getting to have that child you wanted together... sometimes it just takes a little more time :)) so happy for you guys :))
just wanted to say I ended up having 5 chemicals then saw a fert spec they were going to do a biopsy but they tested my blood I was low in vit D so took high supps for that also megafol 5 (not .5) and mega B now I have a sticker no 6 :) never would have dreamed I was low in D!!! Im really olive and get in the sun daily apparently we need way more than we think we do and at 40 it starts effecting your ability to hold a baby
thanks for the advice seeing a dr this friday maybe chlomid will help hope so :-/
wonder how long till heel get me on track tick tick
my husbands 27 so he would love one but at least it decreses the chances of probs from his side
I am 42, and I have a beautiful, healthy 5-year-old daughter. She was conceived the first month that we started TTC.
Now that we are TTC again, we have had a very different experience. In the past year:
1 chemical pregnancy
1 m/c at 7 weeks
1 missed m/c at 9 weeks
We actually got to see the heart beating at 7 weeks in my most recent pregnancy. Then, no heartbeat at the 9 week u/s. I probably would have carried to 12 weeks, but I had a D&C at 9.5 weeks so that we could have genetic testing done. The results: the baby had Turner's Syndrome, one of the few chromosomal abnormalities that is caused (80% of the time) by an abnormality of the father's sperm. It is almost always a random, one-time occurrence, and does not increase with maternal age.
So, after all that we have gone through, our RE is VERY optimistic about our chances of conceiving again and carrying to term. He said that we could start trying again the cycle after I got my first AF. D&C was 3/25/11, and we are TTC this cycle. I should be ovulating in a few days.
I would definitely find a fertility specialist if I were you. In my case, my RE has put me on Chlomid--to increase the size and number of my eggs (because, though I can conceive w/out Chlomid, it increases the chances of pregnancy). We women over 40 need all the help we can get, apparently :-(.
Good luck--I hope to see a BFP from you very soon!
If I were you I would talk to a fertility specialist because you are 40 years old. They usually run diffrent tests and check for certain things when you are over 35.
I understand how you feel. I am going through my 2nd m/c right now, and it so hard to know what to do. Part of me is scared to try again (will I just have another m/c?), but a bigger part of me only wants to keep trying b/c I SO want a baby. I'm so sorry you are going through this. It's the hardest thing I have ever been through. I feel so discouraged by my body and the loss of these 2 lives. It's incredibly painful. Best of luck to you! Don't give up. :)
thanks for the encouragement :-) was thinking maybe I should wait a couple months before trying agn incase my risk of it hapening again is greater if I fall straight away ??
my only prob is Im at the end of my run and worried about time
Don't give up on your dream. I had a total of 5 miscarriage. I went to see an RE and he told me it was just bad luck, that I wasn't getting a good mature egg. I finally had one stick and my son turned 2 in December. So it does happen, I wasn't going to let it beat me and I was determined I wasn't going to give up on my dream. I'm so glad I didn't give up because I wouldn't have my son now.
I'm like you my husband never had any children and I had a daughter from a previous relationship. I was able to get pregnant easy as well, but kept losing it in the 1st trimester. All I can say is keep trying and don't ever give up. Good Luck to you.
