3 miscarriages

DS2
I was just wondering if anyone knew someone that went through the same situation as us. I have had 3 miscarriages in the last 2 yrs. I have been tested for so many things and everything came back normal. We even tested our baby to make sure he was normal genetically and that came back normal. I always start bleeding the same day of my pregnancy and when I go in for an altrasound the baby's heart is ok and a couple of days later I loss the baby. We are at lost and dont know what to do. Any help or suggetions would be apperciated.

I have the same thing. (But unfortunately I also have like 4 other immune system problems) So I will be taking Folgard and progesterone as well along with several other treatments. This past cycle, the progesterone suppositories worked great and my levels was normal! That's alot of m/c's you've had! I'm so sorry for all your losses! (I've had 2 m/c's and 8 chemical pregnancies) I can't help but to wonder if you have some other immune issues too. If you can find a good reproductive immunologist (there are a handful in the U.S.), they can do all the right tests and get you any treatment you need. (With treatment, women with immune issues can have up to an 80% success rate.) It's not cheap and insurance won't reimburse much. But when all else fails, this is frequently the issue. I hope you get it figured out. Please let me know if I can ever help!

I have had 5 miscarriages and 3 have been in the last 2 years.  I have also been tested however they found that I have a folic acid b6 b12 deficiency,  It has also been said it's called MTHFR (methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase).  I don't know much about it but I've been taking the proper medication for the last 3 pregnancies and well...it just doesn't seem to work. I have also been on progesterone on the last 3 as well.  The specialist thinks that my progesterone level is not high enough to support the baby until the placenta takes over.  Have they checked your progesterone levels to be sure they are high enough during pregnancy?

actually I did the gluten free, carbs free and dairy free diet for 2 months and I felt a lot better. I was getting better sleep, I lost wieght and my skin cleared up. I have been fighting acne since I was 16 and I'm 33 now. I need to get back to that diet, I know that will help me out a lot. I really hope your beta keeps going up and you have a very healthy nine months.

Me? Not normally, but it has happened for periods of time in the past. It was mainly more of an IBS type thing for me. But I'm pretty sure constipation is one of the many symptoms that is normal with this candida thing. You can do this, sweetie! I promise! You and I can both beat it, with or without help from the drs. I had to stop the Diflucan because of the faint + HPT's I was getting. I kept on the natural anti-fungals for a few more days after that, but then stopped with my (low) + beta. (which will hopefully be a BFP soon!)

You have to really do your research and get informed about this stuff and make it your mission to stop it. I know I have had it for at least 20 years probably more like 30. For a long time I just didn't believe that candida all by itself could make me feel so miserable. Now I see that that's all that it was. I also have Hashimoto's Thyroiditis, but I think I read about a connection with that and candida, too.

I feel like I am coming back to life after being in a coma for decades! And I will never go back to how bad I felt! I still have a ways to go, but I have seen so much improvement already, that I know I am going to make it the rest of the way! My fertility was there all along, it was just hiding! Some day when I'm 100%, I'm going to have my FSH tested again, and I think all of my RE's are going to have a heart attack when it's normal! :)

Thank you so much for all the information you provided. I kind of knew all of this was linked to my yeast infections, but like you said, western drs do not believe in that. I get over the counter meds or Diflucan to treat me yeast infection, but it keeps coming back every month. I have discussed my concerns with my dr and they blame it on PCOS and my sugar levels being elevated. The funny thing is that I dont even have elevated sugar levels. They say it must be there for you to have elevated prolactin levels, elevated testestrone levels and the cysts. My ob did refer me to go see an immunologist and a high risk ob, hopefully they can treat me and get rid all my problems. Sorry for asking you this, but are you also constipated? That is one of my other issues. I will add you as a friend and hopefully we can all help each other. Thank you so much again for replying.

Good luck, sweetie! Keep me posted and please let me know if I can ever help! P.S. Candida is actually a fungus! I know! Ewwwwww! Thank God I am almost rid of it! It is a nasty thing that once it gets hold of you can take months to get rid of! Most western medicine drs don't even believe it exists! What a joke! This was all caused by my old diet (which was terrible) and way way too many antibiotics without taking probiotics! Thank God at least my future children won't have to endure what I have! :)

Hei Sherri! Thank you for your information. I read about Candida and it is a very complex virus. I'm really into it. After what I have read, I strongly believe this can be linked to miscarriages. Unfortunately there are not too many studies out there to link this condition to miscarriages but sure it can since candida interacts with the immune system and has ability to spread to different organs. I firmly believe this could be the cause for your miscarriages.

In what concerns me, I'm going to talk with a new doctor and have some immunology test and I will keep you posted. I will add you in my friends list. We will keep in touch!

I have had a couple of different tests for candida. The one with the 3 different antibodies, all 3 of mine were markedly elevated. Also every year when I would get a pap smear, I would ALWAYS have a yeast infection, they said. (But I wasn't even having symptoms in that area.) It was just overall I was feeling terrible, fatigued, having issues with fatigue, digestion, difficulty thinking clearly and remembering anything, thyroid, adrenals, hormones, etc. But just since I have been treating the systemic candida, I feel myself waking up from a long fog! Mine was so deep rooted, and I had it for so long, I think it will take months to get rid of completely! I think the damage the candida causes to the immune system, caused me to have the abnormal immune tests (for recurrent pregnancy loss). I had no "blocking" antibodies (LAD's) which tell the immune system NOT to attack the pregnancy. So my body was killing all of my pregnancies within 4 days. :( I pray that those days are over! And I pray you get it all figured out too! I'm so mad at myself for not figuring out something relatively simple sooner! (especially when you consider the first candida book I read was 16 years ago!) :-( Good luck! Please keep me posted on you!

Hi Sherri90049!!! I read your post and I have a question. Did you had a test done to rule the candida?  I'm interested to test since this can cause miscarriages. I have had multiple losses and so far all the tests came back normal. I intend to continue with immunologic testing.

Thank you very much for sharing your story!

If you get frequent yeast infections, then you very likely have a systemic candida issue like me. I have had two miscarriages and like 8 chemical pregnancies that all stop by 4 weeks. I had alot of testing done by a specialist called a reproductive immunologist. (The RE or the MFM specialists will NOT do all of the necessary immune tests.) Some things came back abnormal and I was told I needed a couple of different treatments that should help me to be successful. But my thought now is that the candida that are out of balance in my gut and several other places in my body, are what is causing all of my issues (not just the recurrent pregnancy losses, but actually my thyroid, adrenal, and hormone issues, allergies, etc.)

I did recently start taking things to kill the candida that worked and I started feeling MUCH better. The trick is to get some kind of antifungal (natural things like garlic, pau d'Arco, caprylic acid, coconut oil, grapefruit seed extract, etc., all work well, or a drug like Diflucan), some digestive enzymes (like Candex or something similar), and a good high-potency probiotic. Also important is to be flushing out your system after this, as the dead candida fungus have to have a way to be removed from your body. 80% of your immune system is in your gut. So when you get your gut healthy, your body will be much happier!

I know this is gross. Believe me. I am living it. But I am 100% sure that pregnancy will never be possible until I resolve this terrible issue. For years I lived with it and thought of it as an annoyance. Now I think it is what has caused me to have very poor health for decades. I already feel better after just 3 weeks or so. One important note is not to do any detoxing if you are pregnant. The toxins released when the candida are killed can be dangerous to the fetus. Good luck! I hope you get it all figured out so you never have to have another m/c ever again!

dscoqn, I'm glad to hear you are getting treated. Have you consider testing your partner? At this point I'm testing my husband. I was told yesterday by my OB-Gyn that, male factors have contributions to losses. The man is disregarded at all times and all the testing focuses on the Woman. Man may contribute with a low semen quality that will form weaker embryos to end in a miscarriage. This has sense. I guess is worth the try, to rule out all possibilities. Who knows maybe we are getting closer to something here.

I have PCOS as well and had a very elevated testosterone level.  Since I have been having acupuncture it has dropped dramatically and my cycles are way more regular.  It really is great for balancing out hormones - you might want try it.

In what I have heard hormones can be easy treated, so i'm sure you will be just fine. Maybe you should fallow some homeopathic treatment for your PCOS as Apple Cedar Vinegar treatment or spearmint tea.

It is good you continue with more testing. I do plan to continue testing myself and have a lot of concerns on my list.

@ Carina, sorry my name is Diana and yes we dr did test my Uterus after the second miscarriage to make sure everything was ok. Alll the tests I have had came back normal except for my hormone levels. I did diagnose with PCOS, so they gave me medicine for my elevated prolatin levels and testostrone levels.

Thank you dscoqn and carina720 for your reponses and I'm truly sorry for your loses. Hopefully one day we can all have healthy babies. My dr did suggest immunological testing and we are going to start the testing as soon as I recover from the D&C.

Sorry to hear about your loses. It sounds so familiar to me. The same happened to me. I always miscarried early between 7 -9 weeks

With two of my miscarriages I had suchronianic bleed and soon after we noticed the bleed we rushed to the hospital for had an Ultrasound that confirmed a heart beat, than few days later (2-5 days) the heart stopped. Very hard to bear the pain. All through out the pregnancy also experienced some uterine cramping that were coming and going and terrible persistent back pain that I had for 2 weeks, even to the day we confirmed the heart beat. Doctor at that time said it was normal...but who knows what is normal anymore now?

Well... to have that said I believe there must be a reason for this miscarriages and I intend  to test for immunological causes and for blood clothing causes.

DS2 (I dont know your name ) have you considered immunological testing on you both or to test for NK cells?
Also Septate Uterus causes this kind of odd miscarriages.

I know exactly how you feel....sometimes we get tired continuing with testing over testing and all is negative..Be patient!!!...We all need to patient and keep trying to find the reason

Hi there, I have had 9 pregnancy losses in total (6 of them have been over the last two years).  I have been tested for the usual things but so far no explanation.  I can't seem to make it past the 6 week mark.  I have my suspicions that my immunity doesn't suppress like it should in pregnancy and attacks the growing embryo - unofrtunately I live in New Zealand where there are no tests available for this so I guess I will never know if my theory is correct.  Have they ever tested you for this??

that is sad, if they told me everything is fine, when it fact it is not. My husband, the fetus and I got tested got for our chromosome and they said everything looked good. We did not test the the first baby's chromosomes but I'm definetley going to test this one. So the second baby tested normal. My bleeding always starts on day 47 from the first day of my LMP. Which is about 6 weeks of pregnancy and the baby's heart stops a couple of days after. This time the bleeding started on day 47, but the baby made it to 8wk1d. So this was my longest pregnancy. The weird thing with me is that I bleed a lot when the baby is alife, but once the heart stop the bleeding slows down and I dont pass the baby by myself. They always have to do a D&C. I have my D&C schedule tomorrow. :(

I dont get bladder infections, but I always get yeast infections. Almost every month, when I'm not pregnant.

I was tested for it too by all other doctors and they kept telling me results were normal. As well as everything else. I was confused when the fetal specialist said i had it since others had tested me for it and said everything was fine. If you can make sure they are telling you correctly. I was told wrong for almost 3 years. I also get bladder infections very easily that go unnoticed, that didn't help the cause. Another test i had done was genetics(my husband was tested too) Have you done that one yet?
What happened with your miscarriages? How far did you make it?

thank you so much for the response. Actually have been tested for Factor V and it came negative.

I'm working with a fertility specialist and she is great and willing to go the extra mile, but I'm going to get a second opinion soon.

I've had recurrent miscarriages (the number isn't significant) I had one healthy son, he was the 3rd pregnancy. After that I kept getting pregnant but couldn't get past 5 weeks. I had to see a lot of doctors and finally found out i have Factor V Leiden. I had all kinds of tests run over a 3yr period but somehow they missed one simple thing. I was told everything was normal by a lot of doctors and they were wrong. Don't stop trying to get it figured out. If one doctor says everything is fine or says its a fluke see another doctor. The doctor i saw that figured it out was a Maternal Fetal Specialist. I really hope you get answers soon. Just don't give up.
