Hi,
After one blighted ovum and one chemical pregnancy, my RE found out I have elevated anticardiolipin antibodies (IGM and IGG).  I had a second chemical pregnancy around the time I found out.  All other tests were normal.  He recommended that I take a daily baby aspirin along with my pre-natal vitamins.

I went in to the clinic for cycle monitoring and natural timed intercourse (doesn't that sound romantic:(  When the RE thought I'd ovulated he prescribed progesterone and 2500 ml fragmin injections.  I did get pregnant again on that cycle but unfortunately the baby didn't grow btw 6 1/2 weeks and 7 1/2 weeks and there was no heartbeat, so I opted for a D&C.

I am heartbroken over this but also realize that my recent loss is likely due to my age.  All of my own research confirmed that I was on the right protocol, although I have read tha some doctors prescribe 2 doses of fragmin.

I intend to TTC again as soon as I get my AF.

Good luck to you.

So sorry for your losses.  I am going back to my RE when AF shows up.  Going to put me back on Gonal F for 8 days, then we will do IUI.

Have they checked your uterus abnormalities?  They do an ultrasound with saline to check for scared tissue.  I did not have this test done after my last D&C, it is a routine test.  They said they are sorry for not doing it and will do it when AF comes.  If you are older you might want to have this checked.

Yes, my RE did that test last May (oh none of these tests are pleasant!) and everything was normal.

I mentioned my concern to him right before the D&C last month and he reassured me because my endo lining was thick and he did the procedure guided by ultrasound.  Oh God, I'm wondering if I should have this procedure done again?!

My personal opinion is, have it done whenever they are scraping things out of you.  At least, your mind will rest that, that wasn't the cause, if we ever have to suffer like this again.  Should i ask to be given something while they are doing this procedure?  How badly does it hurt?

How are you doing today?

I was consciously sedated with an IV drip.  But I was afraid I'd have to wait over an hour beforehand and I told the nurse I was nervous so she offered me a sedative to put under my tongue.

If it's done in an hospital they'll put you under, but mine was done at the fertility clinic. The procedure itself did not last long.  I was awake, didn't feel anything but a very minor cramping.  It was actually a very easy procedure and I'm glad I had the chance to do it instead of miscarrying naturally (which I did before and it was terrible, I ended up going to the hospital).

I'm okay, thanks for asking!
